What this tool is for
A section tag tells the model where an arrangement changes: new energy, new melody, new role for the vocal. Without tags the generator guesses, and the guess is usually a single undifferentiated block that never lifts. With tags you get a shape you can argue with.
The palette inserts the eight tags that carry most songs: [Intro], [Verse 1], [Pre-Chorus], [Chorus], [Verse 2], [Bridge], [Instrumental] and [Outro]. Every insert lands on its own line with a blank line above it, which is the format that reads most reliably.
Recognised tags
Beyond the palette, the checker also accepts hook, refrain, post-chorus, breakdown, drop, build, interlude, solo, spoken and ad-lib, with or without a trailing number. Anything else is listed as unknown — not an error, just a flag. A bracketed line that is not a known cue is often sung aloud or ignored, and neither is what you meant.
Tidy trims trailing spaces, collapses runs of blank lines to one, puts a blank line before each tag and none after it, and removes leading and trailing empty lines. It never touches the words themselves.

Build the section map before polishing lines
Write the skeleton first: intro, two verses, a chorus that repeats, a bridge, an outro. Tag it, read it top to bottom, and check the shape makes sense as a two-and-a-half minute arc. Only then start rewriting individual lines. Fixing word choice inside a structure that does not work is wasted effort.

Keep structure cues out of the Style field
Section tags belong in the lyrics box. Genre, instruments, vocal character and production belong in the Style field — build that one with the prompt builder. Mixing the two dilutes both.

Which structure tags are understood?
The common English section names: intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, post-chorus, bridge, hook, refrain, breakdown, drop, build, interlude, instrumental, solo, outro, spoken and ad-lib. Numbering such as [Verse 2] is fine.
Does it upload my lyrics?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser.
What exactly does Tidy change?
Whitespace only: trailing spaces, repeated blank lines and the blank line around each tag. Your words are untouched.
My tags came from another language or tool — are they fine?
